Art Central 2024

Ting Ting Art Space is making its debut at the prominent Art Central in Central, Hong Kong, a focal event during Hong Kong Art Week. Gathering Asia’s emerging galleries and internationally renowned masters, the exhibition will feature seven artists spanning from playful and bold prints to street art graffiti, from abstract symbols to serene landscapes that offer solace to the soul. Additionally, alongside the paintings, large-scale sculptures will also be showcased.

Sculpture work – “Ashes of History,” created by Spanish artist Alejandro Monge, uses destruction as a new form of creation for reflection. The artwork to be exhibited at Art Central is a realistic series of burnt dollar bills. Monge recreates stacks of bills using paper and acrylic paint, ultimately burning them to ashes. Through the act of burning his own creations and their imagery, Monge satirically embodies his critique of the all-encompassing rule of today’s societal and economic values. This series of works has garnered widespread international media coverage and attention.

Overall, the curatorial layout and arrangement of artworks designed by Ting Ting Art Space revolve around a circular corridor space. Additionally, the exhibition walls cleverly feature a window-like void, enticing both passersby and visitors to explore the artworks placed around it. Ting Ting Art Space aims to evoke interaction between viewers and artworks, as well as diverse aesthetic experiences from different positions and angles through this experimental design.

Alejandro Monge

Born in 1988, studied Fine Arts, Sculpture and Visual Design at the Zaragoza Academy of Fine Arts. Currently focusing on sculpturing.

The portraits painted by Alejandro Monge transcend the visual depth of two-dimensional works. The volume and depth of his creations make them almost sculptural, striving to break through two-dimensional space. The chiaroscuro is reminiscent of Caravaggio; John Singer Sargent was his greatest influence.

Although Alejandro Monge specialized in sculpture during his visual arts training, the painted parts in his art are stunning in a hyperrealistic way that is reminiscent of photography and tries to trick the eyes of the observers. Afterward, he began to focus on the creation of sculptures and installations, one of which revolved around realistic banknote sculptures. Monge recreates them on paper and acrylic paint, stacking them in large piles, often in order to incinerate them. By destroying his own work, he satirizes his criticism of the omnipotent domination of today’s social and economic values, and this series has attracted extensive coverage and attention in the international media.

Alejandro Monge reflects on destruction as a new form of creation. While busts are invaded by contemporary classical elements, they still burn in the purest Baroque style or iconic objects reflecting contemporary events. With this, Monge presents an eclectic exhibition that combines different techniques and materials to generate an unusual aesthetic challenge. Each piece takes a long time to create, and he invests his body and soul, creating an emotional and psychological feedback between the artist and the piece.

The Artail Project is a joint project between TIN TIN STUDIO and Bar Home, a famous bar in Tainan, and because of this project, I came up with a new vocabulary for the fusion of Art and Cocktail,” said art curator Ding Chuncheng. Bar Home’s owner, Ah Xiang, has led TCRC to the honor of being one of Asia’s top 50 bars. cocktails. Through dialogue and exchange with art, Artail Project uses everyday objects to tell the story of the diversity and possibilities of art.

With the concept of promoting art and exchanging art with the world, TING TING ART SPACE focuses on accumulating practical experience in international art exhibitions and actively exploring unique art creators from home and abroad. In addition to leading many international artists who are making their debut in Asia, we are also actively establishing new spaces around the world to promote the exchange of art and culture.

For the interpretation of each artwork, Ding Ding Art Space bases its concept on contemporary art, and then re-understands the values in multiple cultures from various perspectives. At the same time, we use contemporary aesthetic taste to provide different viewers and collectors from different communities with different perspectives of appreciation. (Garcinuno) …..
