拉法・馬卡龍於 1981 年生於西班牙馬德里。他在藝術路上自學成才，擅長將日常瞬間變得夢幻和奇趣，作品備受歐美藏家喜歡。作品中常用飽滿的色彩、怪誕的人物，混合童年記憶的懷舊場景，或是天馬行空的外星世界，他筆下人物總是頭好壯壯，有著大眼睛、長睫毛、拉長的四肢、還長了長長的尾巴。拉法自稱是個「觀察者」，就算平平淡淡的日常生活，都能給他源源不斷的靈感。

The Armory Show has announced that over 230 exhibitors will participate in this year’s edition, taking place from September 5–7 at the Javits Center in New York, with a VIP Preview on September 4.
This edition marks Kyla McMillan’s first year as Director of The Armory Show. McMillan joined the fair in July 2023, after the 2024 exhibitor list had already been finalized. Under her leadership, the fair will introduce a number of changes, including a new floorplan, the addition of new sections, and a reconfigured space for large-scale works.
More than 20 galleries are returning to the fair after a hiatus, including White Cube, Andrew Kreps Gallery, Esther Schipper, Marianne Boesky Gallery, and Instituto de Visión. Approximately 55 galleries will make their debut, such as Skarstedt, Megan Mulrooney, ILY2, Superposition, Martha’s, and JO-HS.
Whitestone Gallery, which has a location in Taipei, will be among this year’s participants, along with Taipei-based AKI Gallery and TING TING ART SPACE.
Two new sections will also be introduced. The “Presents” section will feature galleries under 10 years old, including Rebecca Camacho Presents, 1969 Gallery, Fragment, kó, Kendra Jayne Patrick, and Hannah Traore Gallery. The non-profit section will include Lower East Side Printshop, Tierra del Sol Gallery, and Storefront for Art and Architecture, which has received this year’s Armory Spotlight Award.
Additionally, Eric Crosby, Director of the Carnegie Museum of Art, will lead the fair’s 8th annual Curatorial Leadership Summit.
