Edgar Plans at Christies
Christie’s Shanghai-London 20th/21st Century: Evening Sales was held on 1 March. Amongst 105 lots offered, 95 of them were sold and achieved a sale total of £249 million pounds (around US$334 million dollars). The series of three sales started in Shanghai and fetched a total of RMB 222 million (about US$35.1 million dollars). In this auction, 19 out of 20 lots offered were sold – setting a stellar 95 per cent sale rate.
Our artist Edgar Plans achieved a soaring price with his renewed work < Colors > in the auction, selling for RMB 4,410,000, which had been just valued between RMB 500,000 – RMB 800,000.
About the artist
Edgar Plans was born in Madrid, Spain in 1977. He likes to create comic strips and the Hero Animals. His artworks are exhibited in collaboration with Ainori Gallery in Lisbon, Galería Miquel Alzueta and Pigment Gallery in Barcelona, Casa Cuadrada Gallery in Colombia, and Tales of art Gallery in Italy. His artworks also selected by Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Cuba, Museo Bellas Artes de Asturias, Junta General del Principado de Asturias, Pinacoteca Municipal de Langreo – Eduardo Úrculo, LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Spain and other public institutions.
